ELECTIONS 09!!..... Man was it historical or what..???
UPA gets a thumbs up from the people, wining a good number of seats. Few surprises down south and the UP. The rising share market indicating faith in the upcoming govt.
Well all of this is good for the the country "as of now"
However though, I am still amazed at Rahul Gandhi's thought of not getting involved in the cabinet, whilst just being there in the party encouraging more youngsters into politics. He sure did create a wave amongst the young guns and the results have very well shown that few youngsters too are into the herd.
Well then, now that they are there, what's the point in keeping them away from shouldering the responsibility of the country. I mean what experience are you going to gain and whats the use then to pull in youngsters if your not going to get them into the working cadre.
I say pull in a couple of the young leaders and put them in the cabinet. Give them the tough task of being a minister and being responsible for the country's progress in that particular dept.
You still keep the decision making with the oldies and expect govt to think and act in the new generation style. AHA!!!
What do you people think... Rahul better on bench or on the project :)

Yes, this was one of the interesting elections after 1977 and can be termed as nothing but spectacular.
Congress and the UPA did better than their own expectations. More so because of the never-existent 3rd front and the -ve campaign of the NDA.
Probably after a long time the avg age of the politicians is less for the lower house. So, definitely the youth brigade are making entry into the foray.
Onto the question of Rahul -
First, he should be given credit for his ground work in the UP, which he is getting.
Second, though there's a consensus on him joining the cabinet, one should also understand what he has in his mind. I tend to agree with Rahul's opinion on being away from the cabinet for a few more years. He should get time to work on Bihar/Gujarat/UP and strengthen party base. He is still young and has ample time to become a minister/PM.
Third, there will be young ministers in the likes of Sachin, Jyoti, Sandeep, Prasada etc.
Let's hope that this govt which is away from the pulls-and-pressures of the troublesome allies, will take bold decisions to get the economy back on track by creating the necessary demand required and pursue reforms in the area of infrastructure, education etc.
Good Luck UPA and hope for the best.
Happy to c that nandan is part of the cabinet, hopfully Congress government(not UPA) will prove in 5 years wat they didn't prove in the last 5 decades...bingo..
Good luck Congress and Rahul
